Intermediate & Advanced Opti Sailing

The Intermediate & Advanced Opti Sailing class is for youth sailors who are experienced in the basics of Optimist sailing and general boat handling and who are looking to improve competitively. Sailors will expand on their abilities through training exercises & games.

Sailors should be able to handle the Opti on their own safely, capsize & recover, be able to rig, launch, sail all points of sail, and sail to a basic competitive level. Sailors additionally should be able to demonstrate adequate swimming ability in swimming short distances and treading water while wearing a PFD.

If you are uncertain if your sailor meets the prerequisites for the Opti Intermediate & Advanced class please reach out to the Sailing Program at Waterfront@StCroixYC.com
